Can this be repaired?

The clutch wasn't adjusted properly and when I first got it running, it would lurch a bit when the clutch disengaged. On top of that the radiator was just loose enough that it hit the fan. Yes, the cut is deep enough to reach the fluid vanes.

I've already gotten a replacement radiator, but I'm curious if it can be fixed, especially if its the original. I'm guessing not but thought I'd check.

It can be repaired, on the top of the radiator should be a metal tag with the
date of manufacture on it, you can see it with the hood open. I have been told
that some aftermarket radiators not a good fit. Good Luck.

Likely it can be repaired. If not, it can be recored. A lot of the 60+ year old radiators are ready for that. A good radiator shop is your friend on this one.

Be aware a lot of replacement radiators do not have the cooling capacity of the originals. Usually not a big deal unless you work the machine hard...

2X what M-Man said. Shops do it all the time.
have done that with much worse than that one. Works, but does not look "beautiful". Mine was on a combine (water pump shaft broke) and being 8 feet up and covered with chaff screen, I may be the only one who has ever seen the "beauty".

Better to repair an OEM radiator than to replace it with an aftermarket one. Speaking from experience. Note that if it has to be re-cored, that will probably cost at least as much as an aftermarket replacement. Still better to fix.
