Cane tractor

Saw this at the Wears Valley Fall Fest in Wears Valley Tennessee.
The owner said only 73 were made. He only knows of 3 in existence. Don't know if that's factual or not.

Well he obviously doesn't know farmalls very well. They made 1674 mv's, 509 mdv's, 245 super mv's, 89 super mdv's, and 64 super mtav's including gas, diesel,lp or distillate. So its a safe bet theirs alot more then 3 still in existence personally I have seen or know of at least 30.

At a redpower roundup in TN. there was a bunch of V series tractors. Can't remember the number, maybe someone else does.

The 51 year model may have had 73 mv's made but I am a louisiana native and there are still a few mv tractors here. That said I don't care for a high clearance tractor it is to hard to get on and off of with no practical use today . I do have some tall tractors but only because they are used for cultivation and spraying .

Tell Roy I know where 2 more are, then he can say he has all 3. Nah, guy wont sell them. Seriously, he may know of only 3, but there are more out there. I'm trying to figure out where I know the Roy Gamble name????

You guys are missing something here...

He isn't saying that there were that few "MV"s out there, he is saying that there were that few MV CANE TRACTORS. There IS a difference. I remember reading in one of my Farmall books that an MV could be ordered with a couple of special options, and then it was consider an MV "Cane Tractor"... So, I imagine they are rarer than just an MV...

Jim, That still does not verify how many were produced. I do believe that the MV ser#'s were included with the M #'s so it is impossible to verify how many were actually produced.

I wasn't addressing the number made. I was addressing the nonsense about a cane tractor being different from any other MV.

As far as numbers produced, production reports are available for some years at some factories. As it happens, 1951 for the Farmall plant is available. The report is for the production year (11/1/50 - 10/31/51). There were 183 MVs and 83 MDVs. So even if the owner's claim is for the specific year built, there were still over twice as many as he claims (3x if you include Diesels).

Lmao, I do believe that super mdv is alot
rarer and alot more valuable then just a
plain old mv, I know they only made 89
smdv's but I highly doubt he will get lose
to 75k for it. Maybe 35k on a good day.

Nah! I think you may be confusing the MV with the MCH, which was a cotton harvester tractor that had been reversed, or possibly the F30 cane.

I looked in my showbook from Red Power Roundup 2005. Just a quick count found nine MVs. So if the owner thinks there are only three he must not get around much. Nice tractor though and he is to be complimented on it. I like to see any and all unusual tractors along with the common ones.

I have 2 early model MV, 2 super MV, 1 Super with the round tube frontend.
Pick up front end parts this last week to put another early one together.

Have sold at least 3 thru out the years.

These are the cane models, not the MCH cotton tractors
and I have one of those tractors also.
