carb jets - tmx33

I took apart my carb without paying much attention because I thought the rebuild kit was going to have good directions, well they don't. I have three jets I took out and I have 3 jets to put in. I found the idle jet, the jet in the bottom of the bowl, the other one I'm lost on. I tried to put it down the idle mixture hole, that didn't work. Where does it go?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason.......why am I not surprized? I've been rebuilding carbs for 50 yrs and none of the carb instructions are very good. Now days they are written in 6-languages 'cept 'muricum.

Interestingly, besides having different sizes of holes in their middle, (called jets) they also have different screw thread sizes to help the ignorant find out where to screw them.

The 8-32 "mainjet" is at the bottom of the slanted emulsion tube.

The 10-32 "idlejet" is in the top of the carb.

The 8-32 "economizer" jet is in the top of the carb.

CAUTION: the float valve seat must be really "honked-on" or it will leak BEHIND the seat. Then twirl the pointy-tip float valve in the seat so it has a 'ring-around' the tip.

You do know how to adjust carburetors? Don't you? Adjust the side-pointing idlemix for fastest idle, NOT SMOOTHEST, fastest. Understand? I set the down-pointing mainjet to 2-turns and LEAVITT!!! I then set the behind the carb throttle speed for an incredibly SLOOOooow 400rpms (ennythang under 500rpms is close enuff) I do the idlemix adjust for fastest idle at least 3-times. Remember the side-pointing idlemix is BASSACKWARDS, out for lean, IN for INRICH.

The last time I adjusted the carb on my eazy starting 6-volt 52-8N, my side-pointing idlemix was 1/4-turn and down-pointing mainjet was 2-turns........respectfully, Dell
