We are putting the finishing touches on fixing up a Jubilee. She purrs just like the Ford advertisement says. As part of the fix up I put a kit in the carburetor. The gasket between the top and bottom castings sweats gas (I did tighten the four screws) and it appears that the little screen on the bottom of the bowl by the drain plug drips gas intermittently. I don't like leaks especially gas leaks. Any and all advice appreciated. Thanks
I followed all of the advice to no avail. I talked to the folks at external_link and they said to try one layer of Teflon tape on the float valve seat threads. "The latest seats are a little loose in the casting and my leak with modern gas" I was told. Tried it and still no luck.
In a moment of frustration I put the old seat and valve back in, adjusted the float and wallah! No leak. Looks like more crap replacement parts from India. BTW the "old" seat fit much tighter in the casting and the "old" valve is all steel.
Thanks to all that offered help.
