My Farmall H sat all winter in the barn, when I went to start it, gas ran out of the drain hole, so I took it apart thinking the float was stuck, I did put new jets in and checked the float 1 and 27/32, but when I started the tractor it ran as if it had to much gas, but after a few minutes I had liquid coming out of the 2 center exhaust ports ( gas or water) I don't know. any help would be appreciated Ken.

Wipe that liquid off with a rag then walk away from the tractor a bit and try to light the rag. If it lights fast it is gas and you have a sticking float or a bad float or junk in the needle seat

I will check the oil stick for gas, I did put in a new main jet and needle valve I also put the float in hot water and it floated ok, I cleaned the carburator with carburator cleaner. thank you guys

Having the new main jet set too far open can make it seem like it is getting too much gas. 2.5 turns is a usual main jet stating point. What does 1and 27/32 refer to? If you decide to try lighting a rag, when walking away a bit, be sure that the bit takes you out of the barn.

kinda wondering how you know that there is liquid coming out of the 2 exhaust ports. doesnt it have a manifold and pipe on it? plus its easy to tell water from gas. I am thinking its just moisture, but u say the tractor is under cover, but your saying barn which means animals produce moisture. was it running rich and smoking black? not much clear info.

(quoted from post at 18:05:25 06/16/19) I was thinking 1 and 27/32 was the measurement for setting the float ?

Floats are usually set at 1/4 inch. There is nowhere near enough room in the bowl to get it to 1 and 27/32, even if you were measuring from the bottom of the float.

Hi Guys.
I checked the oil pan and I do have water in the oil, This was a reconditioned engine from yesterdays tractors 2007 this engine has only ran up and down the road a few times per year, 60 maybe 70 hours, the head gasket looks ok around the edges, could it be a bad gasket or is it a cracked head, I brought it with a head on the engine, Thanks guys for all the help.

Most likely it is a cracked head but it could possibly be just a bad gasket, but it could also be a cracked block. You should start over down on the Farmall forum.
