No tag on this but I think it is for a Ford.It is a M/S 2 1/4 on mounting studs c to c. 15 degree T plate, fuel
elbow 3/8 male thread and 1/4 barb. It has spots of red paint on it. It has no power needle jet or threads for
one. Should it have a power jet. Came from an estate sale box,Thanks.

Looks like the large screw head by the inlet is the power needle. Small screw on an angle is the idle. Can't help more without a tag. Being it has a hose barb inlet I'd say it was from a small engine, maybe Wisconsin.

A quick web search for ..8n carb circuit diagram.. provided the linked article containing a MS ..circuit diagram.. There you can see the large screw head Mike pointed out as the main power needle is long and extends down to nearly the bottom of the carb bowl. For other Ford guys just by a quick glance the carb overhaul article looks like is pretty thorough.

If youre gonna re-use it on a Ford youll have to pull out and re-install those throttle and choke shafts so that the levers with the attachment points where the control rods to connect to are on the other side of the carburettor.

Thatll be problematic with the choke lever because there is no stud for the helper spring to keep the choke butterfly open behind the lever on the other side.

OW! Mark combined so many of the notes, diagrams, photos that GB MT and JMOR generated over the years together in one place..did pretty good job.

Lynn, it's not for a FORD N-Series Tractor. Looks like a Marvel-Schebler TSX model for a Hundred Series Tractor. The brass elbow isn't right for an N unit. Fuel inlet elbow would be on the side for an N, not the front. There was no brass elbow on the Hundred Series carb fuel line inlet - the Sediment Bulb was fitted at that spot. The N Fuel Line used a standard compression fitting, an industry standard 7/16-24 UNS female thread, not 1/4. All brake and fuel lines use this size. The M/S TSX-33 used a knurled knob with a slotted screwdriver head on the Main Jet Mix Adjustment Screw. In 1948 FORD issued the TSX-241 Carb which changed the Main Jet to a smaller head and slotted head. Would be one for a 172 CID OHV engine, so maybe a TSX 706, 771, 662, 769, or 813. The Carb used on the 134 engines had the brass elbow inlet but on the side as all carbs after the Ns were on the opposite side as well the air inlet tube was now on the right side so units were mirror images. The carbs used on the 172 engines did not use a brass elbow. The 172 TSX carbs used a larger Venturi, 23/32 and the Ns used an 11/16 Venturi so if you want to ID further with no ID tag, will have to take apart and measure. All M/S carb throttle plates were set at 15 DEG.
