I am new to this forum. I have a ford 8n tractor. The serial number is unreadable but I'm sure it's an 8n because I've had one before. I am wanting to 1) find out how hard it is to install a new carburetor and 2) which kind do I need, and the cheapest.
I am not a mechanic but I do have fairly good mechanical skills, I think. I also have a good bit of tools. I also know nothing about carburetors, but I really don't want to know a lot about them other than installation and maybe setting and adjusting the screws correctly.
After looking closely at what I have I see no problem unhooking and rehooking the 2 top bolts and gasket and I think I can remove and re-add the air hose on the left. But I am curious how hard it is to remove and reconnect the 2 linkage arms on the back side without screwing anything up. I think 1 goes to throttle and 1 to the govenor, I believe. And as a note, I just had a new govenor put on.
Any help would be appreciated. I can supply pictures if need be.
