OK, so I got the kit and the gasket does not match my carburetor. Do I cut it to fit?

doesn't have the rights shaped gasket for my carb, (the typical cast iron Marvel-Schebler).
Do I ignore the photos?

Also, how would I determine the right model number carb that I have (for 8N #188572) Marvel-Schebler TSX33, TSX241A, TSX241B, & TSX241C, Ford 8N9510C?

Is it worth upgrading to a new Zenith carb, is it worth $200

One kit will fit all the above mentioned MS carbs. Do you have an MS carb? Can you post a picture of how the gasket does not fit?

I have a feeling that he does not have the M/S carb. that he stated he had.
His statement from his other post:.......
" my carb, (the typical cast iron Marvel-Schebler)."
The kit I posted for him, was based on that statement.
As you say Harold.....If it is an M/S TSX, with any of those #s, that I mentioned, in my reply, to him......WILL fit!!!!

We need to see a picture of your carb, to see what make/model you actually have!!!!????

Well I just broke and stripped out the brass fittings on the carburetor I was trying to fix, so it looks like it's a moot question and I'll be needing a new one. But, thanks for your time.

If you have to buy a replica marvel then get the gold one and not the cast iron. Several well respected members on here have sworn that no trouble came from them.

did you just break a jet? they can still be extracted.

PS.. the gaskets for most MS carbs inthe 241-4xx and 5xx range are near identical..... in fact..the last 2 kits I bought.. the 428 and 241 were exactly the same..
