Carry all advice

Thinking about hooking a 3ph carryall to a sissor lift to load my generator and heavier items in my pickup. Was thinking (dangerous on my part) I could put in a hydraulic 3rd arm to level up the carryall platform. Has anyone done this with success? A one arm loader would work if I could find one that fits a 3000 ford

I doubt if anyone has attached a 3pt carryall to a scissor lift, let alone got so sophisticated as to add a hydraulic toplink to such a contraption.

I'm sure hydraulic toplinks have been used on 3pt carryalls on TRACTORS, and I'm sure they work just fine.

This is what I'm imagining when you say "scissor lift." If this is not what you are talking about you need to clarify:

have you looked at used tommy lifts? I've had one for years, specifically used to load big firewood but have used for fuel tanks gensets power washers. I even use it to get in and out of the pick-up bed. Don't need to even get the tractor involved. that is my recommendation, do as you wish, but the tail gate lift is handier than a shirt pocket will ever be. gobble

A 3ph scissor lift that just extends the lift height of 3 ph
a little bit. When a hay spear attached it allows enough
height to load on a trailer

Cant see why that wouldnt work. The scissors makes the carry all stick out farther, so you cant lift quite as much weight, and the front of the tractor gets lighter.

With that in mind, my 3 pt scissors bale spear worked fine. It has a hyd cylinder to tilt the spear.

My three point fork lift came with a hyd top link, wouldnt want to run it without!

You might want a loader with fork lift attachment, it does end up a lot more versatile. Once you have a loader setup, you wont go back.... I really like the setup I got last year, good strong loader tractor with quick tach.

But your plan should work fine.

Never heard of such a contraption. Got any pics, or a link?

Suppose it depends on the truck, but I ve never seen a lift cart that picked even close to high enough to get in the bed of most trucks.

Harbor Freight sells two different carts.
The lighter duty one doesn't go very high.
The heavier cart according to their website
goes up 34 1/2 inches. I have the heavier
cart that lines up pretty much spot on with
my Chevy 3/4 ton. I've never measured it
and it's buried now. Don't use it since
having a skid loader that does the lifting.

Depending on what your carry all looks like another possibility is to lower the pins on it. That'll give you a higher lift and with a hydraulic center link to level it out. Not guaranteeing if you'll get enough lift for a pickup bed though.

Oh, one of those!

IMHO that's not a half-bad idea. It'll reduce your lifting capacity but more likely the front of the tractor will get light before it's a problem.

I have the 500# unit. Very handy when working alone with heavy objects.....I bought mine to slide my ACs out of the window so that I can take them outside and clean them out. Use it also for lifting heavy objects up off the floor and into the bed of my PU.....for a couple of uses. If you go with the 1000# unit, obviously its heavier, and that may not be to your liking if you don't need the extra capacity.
