I have a case 1070 tractor serial number after 8675001. I don't know what to do. The tractor was given to me and needed some work. I installed a new clutch, power shift valve and a new hydraulic rear pump. The tractor was running just like it should until about 100 hrs on it.

At start up I have to hold down the clutch for at least 1 to 2 mins to build up hydraulic pressure and to hear that windy noise that it normally makes to shift gears. Once hydraulic pressure is reached and while driving when a depress the clutch again it takes about 10 to 20 sec do reach hydraulic pressure again.

Power steering, Pto and lift arms both work. Is there a valve that might be stuck that is supposed to hold the hydraulic pressure. I'm all out of ideas and would like some help.

Thanks
Anthony

Anthony your problem could be just clutch linkage out of adjustment if everything else works normally, with pedal pushed down all the way make sure the linkage has pulled the spool out the front of the control valve all the way. There can be numerous reasons for that condition to occur. If the spool is not being pulled out far enough it would act just as you are explaining. Rod.

I agree with Rod on the mechanical linkage being the probable problem. There are stop screws on the clutch pedal you can adjust to get more throw on the linkage, but broken platform mounts or cracks in the platform are the likely problems, and will need to be corrected, to get it working correctly and not destroy your rebuilt Power Shift trans. You stated that you put a new clutch into it. There is no conventional clutch in a RPS34 trans. Just what did you repair and replace??? You could have feed tube leaks or clutch seal leaks on the multiple clutch packs in the PS unit. Loren
