Case 1270 power shift issues

B&B Farms

The farm next door to us pick up a Case 1270 with low hours, I own an 870 but it not the same animal! The issue is as follows

1. start the machine with everything in neutral and the power shift in LOW We have good trans pressure (on the gauge) as soon as you move the power shift lever to intermediate or high the pressure drops on the trans gauge. Not in gear Just moving the power shift lever and nothing else.

2. the machine will roll in first gear low and reverse ok

3. I took the power shift module off cleaned and new gaskets (the middle gasket was leaking) installed same issue

4. hydraulics are good loader is fast PTO working

5. steering is good

ideas?

I have the manual

The only thing that does not sound right on your diagnosis is that the hydraulics are good, a leak in the powershift causes the flow divider to try to satisfy the power shift and takes oil from the hydraulics, if you had said that the hydraulics work in 1st powershift but do not work in 2nd and 3rd that would that would make more sense. The steering is not involved directly in the basic diagnosis but there is an area that the steering pump does affect but that is not a part of this issue. Go back and see if there is still good hydraulics to the loader in 2-3 power shifts and get back. A quick and dirty diagnosis is a problem with C3 clutch or its circuit. A flowmeter test of the remote flow under the different clutch combinations would pinpoint the problem
