case 1370 hydraulic pump issue

I got a Case 1370 that can no longer lift bales with the hay hiker. im thinking the pump might be pooched ? the power steering is stiff too power shift is awesome got no complaints about that. my questions are as follows.
1. how hard would it be to rebuild the pump ?
2. should i just find a pump
3. how hard is the job anyway?
it looks easy enough and i got a nice collection of tools to make it happen. i saw pic of the pump somewhere and added a dime to the relief valve to see if that would help. i only saw one shim on top of the spring. I assumed that was the place to add shims ? ive heard different stories about shimming but it had a thin shim originally that is kinda wore a hole in the center. the gauge is well in the green as far as the filter goes and the trani press is green too. But i did the filters cause she was in the red zone and would not lift bales anymore. i know she needed it but thats how i got it handed to me. i loaded a few bales with it after the filters and the dime on the spring but after a few loads seem to be the problem again. id like to gather as much info from people here and some pics or videos you fellers wanna provide :) and im gonna fix this thing one way or another cause i have no other choices anyway. some times as a farmer ya dont have much other options. thanks for any help.

It sure sounds like your pump needs replacing. But having it flow tested first if possible would take out the guessing. The pump is easy to replace and it sounds like you know how to adjust the relief valve, be cautious a dime may raise the pressure to high. Use a pressure gauge and try to stay at 2200 psi range or a bit lower if it does what you need it to do. The pump as you probably know is on the RH side of trans, drain out 5-10 gal of trans oil, unhook lines, unbolt pump and pull out. A pump and gasket and seal will get you going again. These pumps are sold as a assembled unit with no parts available from CASE. I do have a good used unit if that is of interest. Rod.

sorry for the late reply 1370rod . been hauling bales and trying to get the sprinklers going, we are getting a heat wave from montana coming up here and hitting the prairies this week, they are talking in the 40C range gonna be hot. anyhow by the sounds of it i might be looking to buy your pump. its a good tractor and this dime thing dont seem to be working really ? in the image i saw it showed a bunch of shims ? like i say i found only 1 and it has a hole in it. ?? do i really have no other options ? my bro used to talk about case not wanting to make certain parts anymore. trying to push the farmers hand to buy newer junk. is there no way to farmer fix this unit ? parts from some other place that just so happen to be the same part with a different application kinda deal ??
