Case 1594 starter/ignition wiring.

I’m working on a case 1594, the key will not turn the starter over. It for some reason has a random solenoid just hanging above the starter, I know it was put in place as a “repair” sometime in the past. I need to know a wiring diagram or a picture of how other starters on a 1594 are wired so I can fix the issue and get the key working properly. The starter does turn, I can jump across it and start the tractor and the key does work the cluster lights and the thermostarts, I think the starter is just wired wrong but I would like a diagram so I can wire it properly without trial and error and sparks. If someone could share an image of how their starter is wired or a diagram I would appreciate the help.

The random relay above the starter is a very good mod, but it must work obviously, start at the back of the ignition switch and make sure 12 V is being sent out to the relay to energize it, There should be a neutral start switch on top of the rear cover back near the seat area if i remember correctly, make sure that switch has continuity in neutral. Just in case it is the standard Bosch style relay and was put there for the start circuit, i will post the relay wiring, the relay serves to take all the heavy current load off the ignition switch and associated wiring to the solenoid.

I found the back of the ignition switch super corroded, while wiggling the terminals on the back it would turn over, will get the guy a new switch and move on to the next one, thanks for the help and I did not know that the relay was an upgrade, I thought it looked pretty hillbilly. Thanks again.

it is done on a lot of tractors and equipment with the newer gear reduction starters, it upgrades tthe system to supply heavier current, lots of times people just let the relay hang in the wiring.
