Case 1665 at show

While I made it to the tractor show and back with my Case 1665. I hauled it with header attached which was probably a mistake. It went on the trailer fine, but could not get it off easy. Was able to pull it off with a tractor, but the back end gets lite with the header on and starts to move around. It pulled behind the truck just fine though.

I love it, my dad and uncle owned one, my uncle's had the perkins diesel, dad's had a 318 Chrysler engine in it- great machines.

very nice wish I had one in my herd,, Jason K sent me a pic of I think this machine, if it was I am the one he said would buy it in Wyoming LOL thanks for bring it to the show am sure it was admired alot wish I could hve been there cnt

It's the same one. I hope to get it out in a week or two and pick some corn, but I need to fix something first. I noticed there is something rubbing on the beater and makes it is making a noise. It has to be in front of it. Do you know what it might be?

I bet the perkins had to be more fuel efficient than the 318. It would be neat to see one with the perkins.

Dan only thing I can see it might be is one of the Beater shields items # 6, unless some thing bent it bad enough to hit the shield and one of the beater "bats" is rubbing, does it rub all the way around or intermitent? just a guess cnt

All away around in the center of the beater and the cylinder looks clear.

can you get a good look at the cyinder sripper? and have you taken the chain of the cylinder to isolate the sound, and am assueming the brgs are in good shape? sorry if you already have done these tests cnt

I haven't gotten a good look at the cylinder stripper. I think that is what it about has to be. What is the best way to get to the stripper? It looks like you can take the plate in front of the return auger and get to it that way? I have had the chain off of the cylinder and the cylinder turns smoothly.

Ah, yea it was, I remember stopping every morning at the gas station with daddy and filling up the tank on the back of the pickup to fill it up just for that combine, but it sure would get a lot of work done in those days, sounded good too.
