What does the battery voltage do when you activate the crank circuit, does it stay the same? Ideally check the voltage at the starter battery post and the solenoid energize wire at the starter would also be helpful. What kind of safety features does it have to keep it from starting under normal conditions, seat presence switch, does a safety bar have to be pulled down in front of you to start it? If so the switches and connections for those need investigated. May have to bite the bullet and get a manual. If you are okay with a down loadable manual go to Farm manuals fast, do not know if you have an operators manual they show one. Maybe ask if it contains the wiring diagrams. If not you will need to get the repair manual for $50. If you want a hard copy go to Peacful Creek, quite a bit more money. I see they offer a ..Skematics.. manual at a lower cost. If that includes the wiring it may do what you need.

Check the battery connections. If a 12v battery has black corrosion on the post the will not carry starting current and it is hard to get off some times sandpaper and sometimes it has to be scraped with a sharp tool.

I couldn't figure it out on my 1840. I have the electrical factory manual for it. IIRC their is a brain of some sort in there which processes all the opens and closed from the various switches.

Mine now has a push button starter switch tied to a ford starter solenoid, tied to the factory Consoilidated Diesel starter solenoid.

My key still works to open the fuel shut off on the pump and all the idiot lights still work.
