Sell it and buy what, some POS unit from a big box store that is stamped out of sheet metal???

You have a tractor that will last you for many years IF.....you look after it properly and take the time to learn how to do that. If you are not prepared to do that, then I agree, sell it to someone who appreciates it for what it is.

The reason why your Case dealer can't help you is because CASE SOLD the outdoor power equipment division that made this tractor, back in 83. You need to find an INGERSOLL dealer near you.

Use the link below. It will take you to the Ingersoll site. Use their "dealer locater" link to see if there is a dealer near you. If not, then send me an e-mail and I will connect you with a top-notch Ingy dealer who will sell you what you need and mail the parts to you.

I also suggest that you join an active forum that deals with Case and Ingersoll tractors because this site can't give you what you need. You can join "external_link" and find their Case/Ingersoll/Colt forum. If you look at the top of the forum page you will find a "STICKY" that pertains to service manuals.

Go find the service manual regarding clutches and learn how to adjust your clutch. Maybe that's all that is needed. You should spend ten bucks and buy the correct Operator's Manual for your tractor and then apply the information that is contained inside of it.

If you are not greasing all the fittings on your tractor and changing out the hydraulic oil and trans-axle oil in a timely fashion, then you're killing your tractor slowly. These are tractors of a life-time but only if you maintain them properly. Neglect them and you will pay dearly for it.

The serial number of your tractor is the key to getting the correct Operator's Manual and any parts needed. You can download a FREE parts manual from the Ingy site by clicking on the Illustrated Parts List link and then using your serial number to pin down the correct PDF as you scroll down the page.
