As long as your 224 was made in 1971 or later, then there's no problem. Any of the 48" wide snowcasters will work just fine on a 224 and it does not matter whether it's a J, K, L, M, N or S series. What will not work is a SB model as these were made for the later 3000/4000 Ingersoll models.

Thanks for the info. A guy I know is practically giving me an old 224. Has a tiller, mower deck, and a dozer blade attachments. Personally I would have more use for the tractor if it had a snowthrower. Found one not far from me, the guy wants 300 dollars. Guess I should first make sure the tractor is good. It apparently hasn't run in 15 years.

Here's the thing.

A decent Case rototiller will bring $400.00 on e-Bay, no problem. Especially in spring. The sleeve hitch is worth another $150.00 all by itself.

The rear hydraulic PTO's have been fetching $175.00 and up.

That still leaves the tractor and deck. So don't be looking the gift horse in the mouth here. The prices of all the Case stuff is going up for a reason I cannot explain. If any of the tractors have cast iron wheel weights, then those are bringing good money too.
