Case 2470 powershift issues

I recently bought a later model Case 2470 that had been sitting for ar least 5 years. The previous owner said it was in good operating shape when parked. The injection pump was seized up but I was able to get a replacement for it. The tractor ran, drove, and shifted well for a few minutes but then after shifting from intermediate to 1st the tractor just died. It fired right back up, but died a few seconds later. With some experimenting I learned that it will run in with the powershift in intermediate or 3rd, or with my foot on the clutch. But it will bog down and die in 1st within a few seconds, and it will die immediately in reverse. I have ensured all the c1-c4 spools moved freely. Someone advised me to check the pressure at the C3 plug and it tested near 250 in 3rd, 2nd, and in 1st.powershift before the engine would bog down and die. The tractor will drive in intermediate and 3rd range. What do I need to try to check or fix next? Thanks for any advice. I have not changed fluid or filters but there is adequate fluid.

If you have pressure at the C3 port in low that is the problem. Check the C3 pilot spool again to be sure it is free. If it is free you may have a gasket under the valve that is allowing pressure to leak into the C3 clutch. The next place would be the oil distributer for the C2 C3 clutch packs. that is the last part out when you pull the powershift apart.

I took the whole valve assembly off the top of the transmission and the gasket seemed pretty good, but when I removed it from the valve assembly I found the issue. The keeper for the retard spring had come loose and wedged behind C3. I knew it moved freely, but id never delt with one before and didnt know it wasnt moving that last 1/4" it needed to. I put it back together and it shifted out like it should, but the gasket leaked. Got one ordered so hopefully im good to go now. Thanks for your help!
