Case 2470 powershift

We have an old Case 2470 that has some powershift problems. Before its been running too long and gets warm, it will move great in first range and reverse. It will work a little in 2nd but never in 3rd. Once it warms up, it begins slipping more and more till it won"t hardly move at all. At this time the transmission pressure is running much lower than it should be. Could this be an issue with the valve body or is there an internal problem in the powershift. We went through the powershift once several years ago and it worked great after that for a time.

By transmission pressure do you mean the pressure from the regulating valve (that should be around 190 psi) or the pressures at the C1, C2, C3, C4 test points on the valve body? Or do you mean the pressure at the outlet of one of the pumps in the triple pump assembly? (if it is called a triple pump on a 2470).

Can you tell us what the pressures are?

You may get lucky and just have a pressure regulator issue. I would not run that tractor until you have a better handle on the problem.

if you need parts i might have what you need. i dont know much about case because im a ford person but im parting out a case 2470 and it has the trans in it.
