Case 30 series question

Could someone help understand what I am looking for.

I see a case o matic that has a torque converter and a Dual range with a clutch on tractor data web site. Can I safely assume the if it is not a case o matic that it is a standard clutch setup? Is there something I can look for on the tractor to verify it other than a name plate?

Is there a stamped number on the tractor that shows the configuration similar to the hundred series fords. They stamp a number on the trans to define the configuration and the decals just say the series.

yes a "Dual Range" is a std clutch 8 speed trans, on the "30" series they all have a "C" after the model # on the serial tag the "C" is for "Case-O-Matic

There is always the possibility that someone removed the C-O-M and installed a clutch. If that is the case the clutch pedal will be hooked to the throw out bearing instead of the hydraulic valve.

One way to tell if its a Case-O-Matic if you look at the left side of the torque tube behind the engine a bit there will be a dip-stick with breather cap and a 2 spool valve in that location.

On a dry clutch tractor there will be a square plate or belt pully on the right side.

Hard to say if someone changed the tin around or used the wrong decals too. but the physical things above are a sure fire way to tell.
