Case 310 dozer dimensions ??

I posted a few days ago about trying to truck my IH 3414 backhoe between two properties I have in northern Michigan with my Ford pickup.
I'm double-posting this in this two forums, and I watch both for replies.

Well - change in plans. I just got a pretty good deal on a Case 310 diesel dozer with a six-way blade. It only weighs around 6800 lbs which is a lot less then my 3414 wheel-loader-hoe.

So, now my new plan is to truck my new Case dozer, and my Deere 420 crawler loader over there (one at a time) - and use both to build the roads I need (instead of my 3414).

Anybody got exact measurements on the Case dozer? My main concern is the outside width of the tracks. I want to make sure it will fit on my DitchWitch 6 ton trailer. The deck is kind of narrow between the fenders. I know that my Ford 641 farm tractor just squeezes in, but it may be wider then the dozer.

My DitchWitch T12A trailer is 74.5" wide between the fenders and the flat part of the deck is 13' long.
If that crawler is wider then 74.5 inchs at the tracks, I'm going to have a problem.

JD,
Overall width on a standard G model is 62".
Length is 98" with drawbar.
Diesel dozer with standard equipment is 5685 LBs.
I find that a lot of small crawlers are around 5Ft wide.
Good luck with the old girl..

I had to buy in a hurry. Lady stuck it on Craigs List and Ebay because her husband has been sick and they're selling off everything. Just happens it's parked around 20 miles from my property in Michigan. Got it for $4500. Supposed to be in great running condition, with a 188 diesel and a 6 way blade. It's uses the same transmission as many Oliver Cletracs. But, Case sticks a torque converter in there, along with their own engine. Case built it from the Terratrac platform when they bought the company.

I had to get cash to them by today (no checks or wire transfers). So, I had to call my wife's parents who live up there, get them to use their cash and go over and check it out. Good thing they trust me. I'm still waiting for their phone call and report.

That 5685 lbs. weight you've got for the diesel must be for the crawler only, i.e. with no dozer blade on it.
I checked Nebraska Tests and they weighed a 310 gas crawler with no blade and it was 5595 lbs. So, it makes sense the diesel version is 90 lbs. heavier. Probably a bigger battery and the 188 engine is bit more hefty then the 148 gas.

I found a few unverified lists that show the 310 diesel with the six-way dozer as 6400 lbs. That would make the six-way dozer attachment around 715 lbs. Sounds about right for a small dozer on a small crawler.

Nope. Don't need it for this crawler. The trailer I've got will do fine for that. Just too short to even think about putting my backhoe on it.
It's got a GVRW of 12,275 and the deck is only 13 feet long. 19 feet long total.

Hi JD,
I put a spec sheet on COMMUNITY ALBUM section.
If you want the other 5,shoot me an email & I'll load em up.
I didn't know they had shuttles on the 310s...thought they started on the 350s.I've only seen normal gearbox trans in 310s.
I hope the dozer works well for you...
I wrecked a 310G loader & have a diff & a few parts left.I'm sure spare parts are plentiful in the US.I think some of the gearbox gears bring good $$$.

Thanks, I'll take a look. The little Case crawlers use transaxles built by Clark. As I recall, they are the same as used in Oliver Cletrac HGs, OC3s, Terratracs, Bombardiers, etc. I know that some Cletrac owners have orderd parts through Case for their crawlers.

A comparison chart I have for older small dozers says that the 310 gas operating weigh is 6145, shipping weight was 5076. Width is 62", length is 109" with drawbar, 101" without. Base price of tractor was $4108. Chart shows a diesel is a 420, 7515/5151 lbs and $4508. 1962 era chart. Hope it works for good you.
