Case 310G Crawler

I appreciate the experience on this forum and also have a question regarding year of manufacture for my 310G. I was told it was a 1961, but another guy told me the 310G came out in 1964. I just bought it and want to replace filters, drop the oil pan, change fluids etc., and am having a hard time finding parts for this model.
It has a gas 148CI engine. It runs and drives well. Here's a pic that may help. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum! You might notice there's a different subforum for crawlers.
That's actually a 310E or a 310D and could indeed be an early '61. She looks in pretty decent shape.
I'm familiar with every nut & bolt on these things but mine's a diesel. Also custom mounted a Warner & Swazey hoe on it in lieu of the Case job. Oil filter should be Wix 51515 or equivalent. Transmission/diff takes 7 litres Straight Mineral Gear Oil (designated GL-1) 80 or 90 or 80W/90 weight. Fill and level plug at tranny, drain under diff. Anything else may ruin your steering/brake bands and yellow metal bushings. May as well use the same in the finals.
If you're planning on keeping & maintaining it, I strongly recommend you pick up the owner's, shop manual & parts book for it. Shop manual might be a little pricey but sure pays for itself, covers the hoe too.
Crawler serial is supposed to be on the front of the left battery box otherwise you may have to go by the engine # which is on a raised rectangle above the starter. Might also be a big date stamped on the block left side? You don't really need need those numbers for parts yet unless you're opening up the engine. What parts do you suppose you need?

In the meantime, ask me anything, but you may want to move your inquiries over to the crawler forum.

Thank you so much. I have many questions and will ask most of them on the crawler page you suggested. But while I'm here, looking for a oil pan gasket and a valve cover gasket and fan belt. I have a shop manual (flashdrive) and parts manual for the 310D, but the guy I bought it from thought it was a 310G. I'll seek serial numbers on engine and frame in hope of learning more. The crawler is 250 away at our camp and I'd like to have parts in hand before I head to camp next weekend. Thank you again!

Get on the phone & call around any major autoparts place, they'll get you pointed in the right direction.
I guess you're aware the hydraulic pump must come off to replace the belt unless you find a link belt for it. Online catalogue says - BELT 0.55'' W x 17.78'' L; Fan and generator Drive 0.55'' W x 17.78'' L. I suspect that length is measured on a belt gauge.
That engine serial will be helpful in the future.

It helps having a better idea of the model. Thank you for the information. I was told the D, in 310D meant it was diesel. And that G referred to gas engines which didn't make sense to me since there was. 310B, and F. Is that true?

I also read on a forum that the bolts on the hydraulic pump can be loosened just enough to squeeze the belt past it. Is that true? I've got so many questions but right now I want to do general maintenance, oil change, hydraulic filter etc. thank you again for your help.

D is just the model, nothing to do with engine unless that's all it came with. Don't know if you can move the pump enough without losing the hydraulic fluid. If you can, great. Hydraulic filter can be cleaned, not fun, you'll want air pressure & solvent. Marvel makes 'em. Hyd fluid, more than one pail, suitable for your climate. Moly grease for the pump splines.

I haven't yet found numbers on it. I picked it up and hauled it to our camp where I'll begin working on it so I haven't yet discovered a serial number. I was using what I was told by the seller but will need to evaluate his information.
