Case 311 top link holder

Does anyone know what held a top link for a 311 when not in use? The tractor I have didn't have a link - now it does, but I can't seem to find photos of the rear of a 311 to build something to hold the toplink upright so it doesn't ruin threads or hit PTO/scratch paint. Thanks for any help you may offer! Andy

Hello, there should be a ring with a little bend to it on the lower half of the third link that fits into a hole on that bracket above the pin. The bend on the ring binds in a way in that hole to hold it in the upright position. Missing on 90% of the tractors seems like. Good luck.

Zack81 is right.... Most of these have gone missing over the past 50-60 years. The previous owners took very good care of my 351 and the turnbuckle hook survived.... The actual case part number is G10980. I pretty sure it's not available through case anymore, but your could fabricate your own...The ring has a hook on the back side that extends down at a 90 degree angle and fits into the three-hole bracket attached to the tractor.

I made one with a large washer and brazed the end of the brass rod to it, cut to length, and bent to fit.
