Case 350 Vs Case 450 Track Loader

Looking to scratch some unwarranted itch for a crawler loader, I'd love a 350 w/ drott bucket but a 450 w/ drott bucket and ripper became available down the road. What's the big diff between the 450 and 350? I assume the engine is different (188 vs 206) and maybe total weight, are track components the same? My largest concern is weight, I see the 450 should tip the scales about 10,000lbs. I probably need to be looking at a 310 or oc45, but those are hard to find and probably hard to find parts for.

Three-fifty has differential steering, meaning you slow one track and speed the other up to turn both tracks always have power to them. 450 has independent control of tracks on each side HI/N/Lo you can throw one in high and the other in lo and do a full power turn,, three-fifty is 40 plus hp,, 188 dsl 450 is 60 hp 188 dsl the 207 dsl did not come until the 450B,, still rated in the 60 hp class,, both are extremely fast and powerful machines,, the drive system on the 450 does take a bit more getting used to to operate,, we sold both models starting with 450 in 1968, the little brother came in 1970,, here in the oil field we sold 5 to one three-fifty's over the 450's due to cost and weight mainly,, I have both models on my farm today,, you can not go wrong with either model, but the 450 is for sure at least one-third more machine,, so all depends on what you need,,

Thanks for the reply Case Nutty 1660

What would you ballpark the weight of the units? Do you still see a few good 350's with the drott for sale around this area out west? I think the 450 is more than I'd like, but for a decent machine with the drott and rippers might have to look for a long time to see something similar.

Maintenance on the two about the same?

Case Nutty, thanks for the info, i really appreciate it. Looks like I had better stick to the 350, at 14klbs the 450 is too much for a big boy toy.

Will have to watch out for a nice 350 to come along.
