I need some help locating rear wheel weights for 400. I really do not want to put fluid in the tires. Help with any casting numbers will help as most salvage yards have all weights piled together. It is hard to tell them apart. Located in central Iowa. Have time will travel Thanks in advance. Brian

The casting/part number on the rear wheel weights is 5556A, the Eagle will be on the opposite side of the weight from the part number. Let me know if you do not find what you are looking for. gobble

The casting number on my weights is 5556A. They are round and slightly conical so as to fit the shape of the cast wheel. They weight about 150 lbs each.

casenut1, Thank you for your quick reply. Are you saying that you have weights for sale? You are within a close proximity to me, and I would be interested. Thanks Brian

tomturkey, If you have these weights, I'm interested. I am but an hour or so from you. I got confused about casenut1's location. So sorry to you both for the mix-up. Please let me know. Thanks Brian

I have two 150 lb weights from my SC.

I have no idea if they will fit your 401

but if you or anyone is interested I am located on

I-80 between Des Moines and Iowa City

5556A wheel weights are from SC and DC. They are too cone shaped and don't fit the flatter wheel on a 400. The 6492A wheel weight fits the 400. If you have speed shift wheels they take yet another number.

I can only say the 5556A fit fine on my 400 when I plowed with it. It is not a lot of fun installing them. gobble

OK then--My 401 is a 1955 model with the cast power slide 19.5-38 rim/tires. It looks like what tomturkey has on his 401 will work if he has the power slide set up. The 5556A should be right. What are everybody's opinions? My serial number is 8069800 if that is relative. I agree with tomturkey, it looks like a three man install process. Thanks, Brian

not SURE THIS NUMBER WILL WORK ON THE POWER SLIDE WHEELS.They fit my 401 general purpose tractor. It does not have power slide.

Like I stated 5556A are for DC and SC. You can bolt them on, but they aren't for a 400. BW 909 is the number on the weights for the power shift wheels on the 400. I've got a couple sets of those. If you don't care how they look , put on the DC weights.

casecollectorsc, Thanks for your help. Can you come up with the proper number to use on the power adjust rims? I really did not think that this would become so confusing. I'm relatively new at this. Thanks to everyone on this site for all the help. Brian

They should look like this. This 400 has 4 sets. I hope to get it drug home this year.

Steve, Thanks for all your help and all the other Case guys. I'll try to locate the BW909 weights. I have now found out that these power slide rims are off a 800com. They have the square runners to slide on. Did not look like the one posted by AgriKing earlier. Thanks again,
Brian
