Couldnt find my other post , so I thought I would repost.
Im trying to see if anybody has an exploded view of the hydraulic pump/valve body on a Case 401. Not having any luck on the internet. Also wondering if a 730 Case pump/valve body would fit and give more power. Front end loader needs help with heavy stuff.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

These pumps are pretty simple but the wear plates are not available. If the 730 has the same style pump it will work as it is the same pump. No bust in power unless it is in better condition.

I?m hoping that this information should get you started. You will have to compare part numbers from a parts catalog on the 700 series unfortunately I do not have that. I hope this is of some helpCM

As long as they look the same, gear drive tractor pumps will interchange with pumps from gear drive tractors. Pumps from chain drive tractors look the same, but turn the opposite direction. Finding a real good hydraulic pump is like searching for a needle in a haystack. They are all 50 years old plus. When the needle bearings get a little wear they cut out the end plates and the oil gets past. You would be much better off if you go to a PTO pump.

The small hydraulic oil reservoir was the downfall of many of those pumps. If the operator was not diligent about checking the hydraulic oil level, many of those pumps ran dry, scoring the body faces and ruining the bearings. As mentioned, later ones had replaceable wear plates(no longer available). I was able to resurrect one by having a machine shop machine the body faces but often they are scored too deep for that to be an option.
