Case 411b Questions

A couple of questions on this tractor. I"m pulling the engine ( Gas) to rebuild/reseal, how does the torque converter come off the flywheel? Engine is still bolted to bell housing, do you pull as a
unit then remove converter from flywheel after its apart? I dropped the oil pan and see no bolts holding converter to the flywheel or a plate on the bell housing to access that side. I don"t want to
mess anything up. Second question, is the 411b the same tractor or share parts with other models? I need a gas tank and have searched the internet and have found nothing yet. Thanks, Kenny

All you have to do is split the tractor at the bell housing. The torque converter/ Casomatic unit will remain in place in the torque tube and the flywheel will slide away from it. There are teeth similar to a ring gear on the torque converter that engage into the flywheel.

These are from my 611B service manual which does not cover your 411B. But they are so general I think it won't make much difference. Basically it says to remove the front end as an assembly, complete with wheels, then remove the engine.

It does not show or state anything about removing torque converter bolts. It also doesn't mention draining the engine oil or hydraulic fluid but I strongly recommend doing that first, as well as the coolant they do mention.
