Case 430 flywheel torque

I seem to be having trouble finding torque spec for the flywheel on my 430 diesel, it doesn't have bolts it has studs with nuts...there is only four of them maybe 5/16 so I'm sure they are nut torque to yield, I have been told 75-80ft pounds seems to much for a grade 5 stud

I have always used a small amount of heat tip of the flame on
the nut when there is a stud. This would be for removal of the
nut only. Chuck

Correct Chuck, a bit of heat also releases Loctite, do not need much heat to release it.

I have been inside a lot of those engines and overhauled and put clutches and turned more flywheels than I can recall and all of the flywheels had 7/16 NF studs screwed into the crankshaft, they take a 5/8 socket , they have been the same since the early engines , the VAC has the same setup as does the latest 201 CID Combine engines, if you could please send pictures so I can find why my specs are wrong please.

they are 7/16" same used in both gas and dsl engines, even the 500B/600B used 7/16"

I took a pic of the 159 engine but the 148 gas in the 430 is the same also,, even the 300 series uses 7 1/16" and yes the 188 dsl uses the same,,

Well you beat to it Tom but I'll have to back you and mEl up. 430 gas 148B & diesel 188 flywheel nuts are as they stated. This is the early 430 but the flywheel fasteners are the same on the later 430. The same flywheel fasteners on the 300-300B are torqued to 65-70 ft.lbs, I would the 430 would be the same or very close.
