I can't locate the port/tank for the hydraulic fluid to be poured in? Thoughts, ideas ? There is a front end loader on this older tractor I recently purchased. Fluid leaking, but I'm unable to replenish. Thanks for any help!!

Hi JK, the hydraulic and transmission/rear-end are all one reservoir and the filler plug is behind the seat on the casting just above the 3pt rock shaft. The level is checked at a dipstick by your left heel on the side of the transmission case. Can be overfilled with up to 5 extra gallons if there is a loader on the tractor. Use CIH Hytran or equivalent hydraulic fluid. The hydraulic filter is in the canister under the left floor board.

Good reliable tractor. Always be sure parking brake is released before driving tractor or chewed up brake band bits will be in the hydraulic oil and clog filter.

Good luck with your 485.

You may wish to remove the SMV / top link holder hook / 7pin bracket bolt to make access to the filler plug easier. Only one bolt, takes a second and then easy access to the plug.
