Case 500 transmission swap?

I was doing some thinking about how wonderful the Case 500
is. The only think I thought that could really make it better is if
it was equipped with a 5 speed transmission. I know the 600
came with the 5 speed so my question is, are those
transmissions interchangeable?

you would have to swap the whole rear half,, but sure you could , why not just find a 600 or 900 as they are all the same engine

Actually the 600 has a six speed transmission and they usually came with 34" rear tires, so quite an upgrade over a 500. Not saying there's anything wrong with a 500 as I really like mine, but my 600 is more useful and pulls better. Don

The 930 6 speed is the same also. You could even upgrade to a foot clutch if you desire.

Thanks for correcting me. My memory is a bit rusty, it's been around nearly 15 years since I've been around a 600. Personally I wouldn't change a thing about the 500. Still in my top 3 favorite Cases built.
