Case 511b Throttle Linkage Pictures Needed

While working on making 1 tractor from 2 we got both sets of throttle linkage pieces jumbled up and have not been able to figure out/remember how they go. This linkage is a trapeze looking apparatus located under the battery tray connecting the hand throttle, foot throttle, and governor linkages together. To make matters worse this linkage is only visible with the hood removed.

All the parts diagrams I've found are exploded view and do not show the detail necessary to know what goes where.

Are there any 511b owners here who would be willing to remove their hoods to take good/great pictures of how these linkages go and email or text them to me? Willing to pay you for your time and trouble.

Did you ever get your info? I have a 611b in the garage with the tin off that I could send you pictures of easy enough. I'd bet the linkage is the same.

This is why we're making 1 from 2. Grandpa bought it new, a year ago dad was shredding the ditch along a literal dirt road and a car came up behind him clipping the left front tire, smashing the rim, breaking that spindle, pushing the front half of the tractor sideways breaking the center section and 3 speed gearbox. The shredder on the 3 point held the rear half pretty much level and somehow he stayed in the seat. Could have been so much worse, everyone walked away from this one.

Got a parts tractor for the center section plus all the other damaged odds and ends. Currently it's sitting on its wheels again waiting for this linkage to be settled, then we can put the gas tank and battery in to get it running. The hood took a bit of a beating from the wrecker ride home, I'm hopeful the neighborhood body shop can get sheetmetal pretty straight again w/o ruining the patina.

That scares me to the bone in that I mow a half mile of hwy road frontage of the farm. If you need a picture of the other side I may be able to get one once I get home (I'm 400 miles away) and the hurricane passes.

It's very frustrating and humbling to be able to bolt a tractor together yet not remember how this linkage went.

These pics are in a 300B manual. I checked a few p/n's, the linkage and parts appear to be the same as the 500B just a much clearer pic.. I have some poor actual pics but I think that Tgrasher will come up with much better pics, especially the hand throttle linkage bell cranks area that is definitely confusing when it is apart in pieces. The second pic is that area. These are 300B pics with a MS carb so there may be some minor differences.

Are you going to be able to save the hand clutch?

Thank you for those diagrams, yes they are much clearer.

We are using the donor hand clutch, in one of my pictures from the accident you can see the hand clutch pack took major damage.

This is probably the wrong place to post this but we have the complete narrow front and a parts missing rolling rear end from the donor tractor that will be looking for new homes once ours is back together.

The 611B I was going to photo for you is set up the same way as the picture above. Only difference is my return spring is rigged up elsewhere instead of the pencil sized spring you mention missing on most of them(missing on all three I have). Thanks for the info.

This is probably the wrong place to post this but we have the complete narrow front and a parts missing rolling rear end from the donor tractor that will be looking for new homes once ours is back together.

The tin will be available too, it's straight tho IMO has been repainted the wrong shade of desert sand.

The rear end is missing the long shaft for the pto and the 4 speed gears and shafts.

Other small pieces might be good too.

Our return spring looks like something for a screen door, definitely a Grandpa fix lol.

Well it stopped raining and raised the tarp covering the 511b and here is what I found. This tractor was bought from a "Mr. Haney" some years back, and I knew it was locked up, but it was all there, top link, front weight, power steering, cloths pins on the fuel line, etc. What I didn't know was the cost of an over haul kit. So it has set tarped while I work on other tractors. Not sure what function the wire serves. Joe (Wa), I think your pictures are better.

Finally getting back to the 511b after being away from the shop for harvest. Would it be possible to get some more views of this side of the linkage from some different angles? The foot throttle linkage layout is giving me problems now, I'd like to see how it attaches to that cross shaft under the battery tray and how it pushes on the lever going to the governor linkage.

This picture shows the foot throttle rod going thru the large slot in the case iron in the lower left hand corner, if you look thru my pictures from the wreck you can see our rod was on the outside of everything else.

Our rod is also different, a clevis end to the pedal on the running board and an adjustable threaded end under the battery tray that attaches to a short piece of angle iron which then attaches to a bell crank linkage piece. To the best of my knowledge our complete foot linkage has always been intact.

Finally getting back to the 511b , I'd appreciate some more pictures from different angles of this side. While I'm making requests lol could I see your throttle linkage on the other side as well?

I only have a 310 utility round nose with loader now. Can't get any pics under the sheet metal w/o pulling the loader off to remove the sheet metal. I may have some partial steering linkage parts showing but are not the target of the pic. I think you may have to put all the unknown steering linkage pieces together in one pic and post it so we may be able to arrange them in order of correct assembly. Tg would be a big help on this having a 511B.

I had a 311B with this type of foot throttle linkage (using right side only) and have seen it on other x00B series Ag tractors.

Figured out why we were having so much trouble, the donor steering column/battery support piece is different than our original. In the picture the original is on top, the donor is the bottom. The mounts for the rear bolts needed that front web removed to make room for our throttle linkage to swing. Some time with the angle grinder and we are in business, throttle linkage wise anyhow lol. Hopefully in the next couple of days we will get everything but the hood bolted on as well.
