Case 530 doesn't stay running.

My 530 case won't stay running. Get it started, runs about 5 minutes then shuts down. Have tore carb apart and cleaned. Cleaned the bowl and filter. Adjusted the idle and load screws to what book says. ???

Not as familiar with the gas models but a gas motor is a gas motor.
I have heard of ignition coils failing when they get hot. Check for spark when it dies.

Could be a weak fuel pump. Maybe a pressure gauge

Could be a bad breather on the fuel cap. Open the fuel cap and run it and see if it still dies

Ok will try

When it shuts down, pull the line off the carb from the tank and check how much gas runs out of the line from the fuel tank where it goes into the carb? Is there a screen fitting where it goes into the carb? Do you have an inline filter between the tank and the carb? Is there gunk inside the tank that is restricting the flow?

What you are describing is the classic symptom of not getting enough fuel.

No pun intended, you may have a bug in your tank. Or at least some debris that is getting sucked over the drain hole. When the tractor dies and the draining force is gone the debris floats out of the way. As DRussell said, check the flow to your carb and work back to the tank to find the stoppage.

Gas 530 is gravity fed, no fuel pump.

No inline filter. I cleaned the bowl and the screen. Also have a magnet next to where line comes from the tank to collect any rust particles in the tank. After it shuts off, need to jump again and runs approximately same time and shuts off. Tried taking off gas cap. Nope, going to try the ignition coil and then the fuel line.

Is the battery any good and is the charging system working properly, if you have to jump it to start it and the generator is not working the ignition voltage may be dropping to the point that the ign. system does not have enough voltage, do you leave the jumpers on or remove them when the tractor starts, if so leave them on and see what happens.

Let’s think out of the box here. I had a 411 that had a cracked intake, by the way, not visible. I didn’t find it until I had the tractor running, and I grasped the intake with the palm of my hand, and immediately surged to life. The exact same condition occurred with me. It would run for about four or five minutes. Look for a crack on the intake. Grab a mirror and look behind. Just saying. Please respond as we continue to resolve your issue

I'll bet dollars to buttons it's gunk in your gas tank that's causing a partial restriction. Very common problem on the old tractors we talk about here. It seems about once a week someone asks about the same symptoms, and it almost always turns out to be gunk in the tank blocking the outlet.

It won't be a complete blockage, just a partial blockage: The fuel flow can 'almost' keep up with demand, but not quite. So the level in the carb bowl gets slowly lower as it runs, until it stalls out after a few minutes. Probably time fo a good gas tank cleaning.
