Case 530 Transmission and Shuttle Oil Levels

I have a 1960 (or so) 530 with the dry clutch (i.e. not Case-o-matic). Both the dipstick for the transmission and the shuttle screw in. Do I check the oil level(s) with the dipstick full screwed in or just resting on the rim of the hole?

Check oil level screwed all the way in. I generally set the plug on the lip and eyeball the length the of threads when screwed in and then make a final check screwed in after adjusting oil level.
