I am new to tractors my skipploader was running good -until it lost pulling and pushing power-it moves forward and up a 14% grade and all of a sudden it stops and goes backward.Any suggestions.I have changed all the filters and fluids.I lift the wheels off the ground -put in forward and it goes -noticed when i put it in neutral it goes in reverse.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

I am going to assume you have a power shuttle transmission and not a dry clutch type or a hydrostatic model,, if this is the case the shuttle packs need rebuilt, the REV packs never wear as fast as the fwd ones so this is normal when they need serviced,, it does require splitting the unit to access the shuttle,, I HIGHLY recommend getting the correct CASE service manual before you start the job as it has all the steps from start to finish and how to do it correctly,, if you have one of the other two transmission options I can tell you what direction to go there also

Thanks Case Nutty 1660 I am not sure what transmission I have.It has a shuttle shift on the steering wheel for forward neutral and reverse and a left clutch pedal connected to the brake pedals. there is no shuttle or driveline underneath. It is one compacted unit.It has two drain plugs on the bottom one in the front one in the rear for draining HD fluid. Is there a seperate Pace to put hd fluid into the torque converter? thanks Stan

if you have to use the clutch to change directions , meaning until you step on the clutch to stop movement while the shuttle is in gear you have a dry clutch,, I am still thinking you have a power shuttle,, and yes there is a big hex plug on the transmission case just in front of the 4 speed shifter if that is what you have, it has a dipstick on it, the level needs checked while the oil is warm and with the unit in 4th gear and the shuttle in fwd or rev at a idle with brakes SET, there is a notch on the stick for level,
