Case 580c backhoe steering hand valve leaking

it has bad leak coming from the bottom of the steering shaft and the steering wheel has a lot of play in it but I know it’s not tie rod ends as I have already replaced them is the hand valve a throw away part I don’t see like a seal kit for it online but a new ones about $900 so I would think it can be rebuilt

Well, as far as resealing, yes you can reseal the motor/hand valve. The kit and square oring are on top and the seal sleeve is on the bottom. The top is easy, but you have to be real careful working on the bottom. As far as play goes, you might find the problem on the top end, but you real need a service book to do this job or get someone that has done a few of these motors before.
