Case 580M Power Steering problem....

Power steering is hard and difficult to turn. Has enough power steering fluid and belt seems to be tight.

Where do I start to determine the problem?????

Does the ps work if you hold another function against relief?

The Ps is hard regardless of other functions. (Oops, no belt).

Hydrauics for steering is taken from main hydraulics, there is a flo divider that sends oil to the steering, I would check that for free movement in the casting, you should have a print of that valve( loader) to aid in finding location of spool.

I have been retired a couple years now so am getting away from the stuff, wish I were a bigger help.
