Case 585 loader

Please forgive my ignorance or lack of technical terms.

I bought a 585 with 800ish hours from the state of tennesse
a few years back. When they owned it, it had a side mount
bush hog on it. I am looking at a few 2225 and 2250
loaders, but most do not have a control valve. The listings
say its plumbed directly into the hydraulics. I have one set
of remotes. I also have a up/down lever on the rh side of the
tractor be that I assumed they used with the bush hog.
There are previsions for 2 more levers, but Im not sure what
all I would need to buy to make those valves functioning or
if they are needed at all? On the right hand side below the
foot rest they had 1 hose coming off a fitting in the case and
then plumbed it back into another fitting in the case. Im
assuming this way hydraulic supply/return for the side
mount BH?

I guess what Im really asking is if these loaders are
plumbed directly into the hydraulics without a LCV, what am
I going to need to have up/down and curl in/out functions
with the loader?

Thanks for you help

those tractors are the same basic tractor as the 574. If you want to be able to use the remotes in the back while using the loader, you want a power beyond plate. This will allow you to plumb your loader into the system without affecting the use of your rear couplers/remotes. If you don't care about the remotes then just plug your loader into the remotes and don't worry. I would after using our 574 since new for the last 50 years have the power beyond plate for it. Then use a joystick type of valve setup. If the valve is mounted on the inside of the right loader post you will not need any cable connections to make the valve work. This would only apply to a noncab tractor. If it has a cab you could mount the valve inside the cab,if a leak occured it would make a total mess of the interior. This would make me look at a valve with cable connections to operate it so the mess would be outside the cab. I would also see if I could get the auxiliary mounted pump that mounts on the right side under the foot step/rest. You will see a round plate there this is where the pump would mount. The tractor pump will be rather slow with only about 9 GPM to run the loader. The auxiliary pump would be more like 12-15 GPM which would speed it up. IT might even be bigger than the 12-15 GPM.

Most of those Int 2250 etc loaders come with a two-way valve giving you lift and curl and that valve connects up under the rear of the tractor not using up your outlets. Where are you from? I have an extra 2250 with a joystick valve included in S.W. PA.

Ill check under the tractor tomorrow and see whats there. I would think they would have had an auxiliary pump to run the side mounted bush hog?

Again this is my first tractor Ive personally owned and the first case Ive worked on so go easy
my biggest question is it without a loader control valve/ joystick, how can I run both lift and tilt loader functions? As I mentioned earlier, there is already one lever on the right side below the draft/lift arm controls. There are cutouts for adding 2 more levers, but would that mean the aux valves are already there and I just need to add 1 lever for the other loader function? I added a link to the valves Im talking about below.

Again, thank you for your help

The cut outs for up to three remote valves are standard from factory. It is possible (but unlikely) that someone removed the levers, the only way to know is for you to look or post some good pictures. It sounds like you will need to add a valve to your tractor to operate the loader properly.

Take some photos of the those existing hydraulic hoses that go into the case. The usual place to put a hydraulic return is into the drain plug under the right rear axle.
I believe if the 585 is a later model it will have a power beyond port built into the hydraulic system, look under the sheet metal at the front right of the seat where the hydraulic levers are located.
See attached photo with RED highlighted power beyond port on a CIH 495 that is one generation newer than the 585.

Power beyond and separate two spool valve is what you want.

There were a ton of 2250 and 2255 loaders around here on 85 series and newer tractors, all I saw were joystick off power beyond. None were remote levers.

Yes you will have three slots even if you only have one lever.
