Case 600 Combine ???

This is the first one I have ever seen with a corn head.

I am assuming that this is a standard 600 combine harvester, except with a two-row corn head.

Did it shell the corn or only pick it ?

What years was this built ?

it is a full fledged combine harvester. There is no way you are getting an ear of corn through that unloading auger. Had a rasp bar for corn threshing.

I am picturing something very similar to the rotating teeth on a hand-crank corn sheller; am I close ?

Rasp bar cylinder is a flat bar with ridges...what you recall is a spike tooth cylinder. Spike tooth is used for grain and soybeans. Rasp bar
cylinders are used in corn, small grain and beans.

I found this parts catalog from 1965:

The earliest photo of a 600 I have seen is dated 1962 and a caption under one photo said "from last year of production 1970"

I have had no success in finding actual years of production.
