Case 630 Hydraulics

My Case 630 Diesel Tripl-Range NF has an Eagle Hitch. Everything works fine on the tractor, except that the lift arms don't go up or down. Where should I check the hydraulic fluid level? If low, does it take Hy-Tran or something else? Anything else I should look for? Thanks for any answers you can give me!

Lee, if my brain can remember right, there is a little plug near to the triple range shifter...should take a 1/2 drive rachet. my 630 has a C.O.M. and mine has a dipstick. Hy-tran should be fine. Some guys use transmission fluid also.

Lee, my 630 dry clutch hydraulic fill plug with dipstick is like Triple range says, about the location of the triple range shift lever longitudinally but on the left hand side opposite the shifter on the right. If you have fluid in the system, my bet is going to be the seals in the rockshaft piston have gone bad and you need to remove the seat, tool box, disconnetct the lift links, remove the rockshaft arms (for weight) and pull the differential case cover to get to the piston.

dipstick and fill plug is on left side below the breather. Better check the roll pin under the fuel tank on the valve, mine has a habit of working out and if the valves not moving the arms won't either.
