Could someone give me information on the drum brakes. They are locked up. I can bleed them and brake fluid comes out. The brake pedals are solid and dont move. I will be taking off the rear tires soon and any information on the rear brake system would be helpful. It is a CASE 680c ck construction.[/img]

When you open the bleed nipple and let the fluid out the brake should be off unless they are stuck on,the brakes on that machine are hydraulic/vacuum assisted, check the belt is intact and tight on the vacuum pump, see the hose between the pump and vacuum chambers is good and not drawing air, check the pump is working, try to press the pedals with the bleed nipples open,if the pedals do not go down then check there is nothing fouling the linkage going to the master cylinders, the parking brake is separate and is on the back of the transmission, those brakes are a nightmare there is so much that can go wrong, master cylinders, vacuum cylinders/pump and wheel cylinders, the shoes are conventional, there were two types twin slave cylinders and an upgrade to single slave cylinder.make sure its not the parking brake that is stuck on.
