Hi, looking at a Case model 732 diesel with dual range transmission. Anyone have any experience with these old girls good or bad?
Good simple tractor. Crack the oil drain plug and screw out part way to check for coolant in the pan from sleeve o-rings or cracked sleeve. If just oil in the pan it should be good to go. Have a high profile 730 here...

Pretty much bullet proof. If it is an early model with only 1 gearshift for both the transmission and range shift, there is a steep learning curve in learning how to shift gears. Later ones had 2 levers and easier to get into the desired gear. Early models had separate reservoir for hydraulic oil, whereas later ones used the entire rear end as the reservoir.

A lot can be determined by how well a tractor has been taken care of, this one by appearance would pass the test. Looks to be a 1963-64 that if it passes the mechanical check out, looks to be a keeper. The tractor is a very versatile, easy to use, and has some power under the hood. Parts are readily available yet.

This one has the two separate shifters.
