Case 870 powershift disassembly

I"m trying to disassemble the C2/C3 clutch unit. I need to remove the snap ring on the output gear that drives the range transmission according to the shop manual, but cannot seem to get the ring out of the groove. Any advice is appreciated

I am guessing you are talking about the snapring just in front of the C2-C3 carrier assemble? If so there is proble slight pressure against the snap ring, take a long punch of some sort and tap the carrier assemble toward the rear of the tractor.

I can not get the C2 and C3 clutch and planetary unit appart. I did not know what to do next i have a book and it wants me to remove the power drive staft and the planetary unit from the planet carrier. I dont know how to do this because i have the shaft out but the planetary is not moving. There is a snap ring holding the gear on top of the unit i do not know what to do?
