Case 930 fuel filter help

My father in law and I recently purchased a Case 930 CK with the 401D. While using it the other day pushing snow it suddenly lost power and shuddered to a halt. We have other Case tractors at the farm and have diagnosed it to the fuel filters. Question is on the 930 CK engine serial 2186293. I thought there was supposed to be 3 fuel filters, two cartridges next to each other and a final stage filter under the hood, however this one only has the 2 cartridge filters. Was wondering if this is how its supposed to be or did someone get frustrated and delete the final filter. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks

Are the filters cartridge or
spin on? The last models went
to the 70series type filters
and eliminated the third
filter.

Yes they are cartridges not spin on.

I don't know the ser # on mine with out going out and look at it, but it only has 2
screw on type (930CK). 1969 model.

If I recall the final filter is NAPA 3191 and no longer available last time I asked for one. Same 1/4 inch pipe thread in/out filter was used by most older tractors with the American Bosch PSB pump. The old Massey-Harris book said to replace it only at engine overhaul if I recall correctly. I have one on my pump test stand too for Ambac M100 pump testing.

i went to the case IH online parts pages and they show several different filter diagrams by serial no. some have the third filter some dont. one
diagram had spin on primary filters. i once worked at a former case dealership and i never saw the spin on fuel filters.

The searching I have done so far shows that the 401D with the serial number I listed should have the third filter with the cartridge primary and secondary filter. I was hoping somebody has seen the third filter being deleted and if I should put it back on during the rebuild. Looking over things the last couple of days it looks like the previous owners changed things around to make it work but didnt put anything back.
