Case 930 LP

I have a Case 930 LP Comfort King - it has an Ensign propane regulator/vaporizer. It appears to be vaporizer flooding - so it will not start. I would like to replace the Ensign with another regulator but am having difficulty determining what I need. I understand that I will probably need a new carburetor too. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

My dad had one customer at his repair shop that had a Case 730Lp. I remember one-time old Erving removed the regulator for whatever reason and lost it. Dad
called one of the local irrigation shops and told them what he had. They sent out a new regulator. I do remember having to make new mounting brackets. it
worked fine. No other parts were changed.

One other time dad went to the old John Deere dealer where he use to work and bought a kit for, I think a 4010/4020 and used the diaphragm out of the kit to
repair another ensign regulator on an irrigation engine that I think was either a Ford or Chrysler.

Have a 930 LP here. What indicates vaporize flooding on your tractor. Mine has 9500 hours on a working tachometer and has the
original LP equipment on it...no problems. Starts at -30 below temps in the winter to run the snowblower mounted in the winter.

My dad and I have operated this 930 for 40 years with no significant problems. It has always started well until recently. I believe propane has leaked through the regulator slowly for the last 5 years or so - it the tank vapor line is left open - we smell propane. Therefore, we always shut-off the propane at the tank and only open it when ready to start. However, in the last few weeks, I have had difficulty starting it - i was able to get it start if the vapor valve from the tank was barely opened (highly throttled). I opened the liquid line once to see what would happened and i could hear propane flowing out (and smelling it). I believe it was coming through the air intake/filter and some running through the cylinders out the muffler. If i barely crack open the vapor value the tractor fires and acts like it will start, but will not keep running. If I open the vapor valve more, the engine turns over but never fires - so I believe it is flooding.

Are you sure the ignition parts are all good? Point gap and good coil spark? I shut the tank off to kill the tractor and then turn the
key off. I can smell LP also if I don't start it immediately.
