Case 930 (new to us)
I was cutting hay on a hot day, tractor running great. Stopped to water the horses and the idling tractor seized up solid right beside me. There was no warning. Tractor wasn't overheated.
We have pulled it and changed oil, no luck. We are wondering if hydraulic pump failure could stop the engine.

Hello LesandJoe welcome to YT! Any idea what oil
pressure was reading? Bearing seized, dropped valve
or some other less common problem. In most old farm
tractor designs the hydraulic oil pump has a small
enough drive or key that those things break long
before the inertia of the heavy flywheel can be
stopped.

I have a Case 500 and the previous owner shut it off one
evening after a day of work. Came back the next day and
it was locked up. Was running fine the day before. I
bought and ended up tearing it down because it actually
locked up. Crankshaft was scored and bearings all shot.
So good luck because I didnt have any

I seezed up a 930 6speed running a grain vacc without having the tractor in gear and jacked
up. No lubrication to the PTO gear. Had the motor apart before discovering the trashed gear
and bearing. Motor was due for overhaul. Had to have the block line bored.
