Case 930 sixth gear

You will need to remove the top cover on the transmission.......requires removing the fuel tank and platform and suspending the steering column. You will find your problem, BTDT. It has been a while and I cannot recall off the top of my head what exactly was broke, but I will take a look at my shop manual and try and remember.

On mine the shift fork had detached from the part that slides on the rail....bolts had evidently loosened
Fork was mangled by gear contact. I replaced both parts. New parts are no longer available but I had no trouble locating 1 in a bone yard.
it is not a difficult job, but it is time consuming and involves some doing to remove the tank, platform, and tranny cover. Good luck!!

You may not have any problem with the trans, when we got our chain drive home 6th and 4th we're not available IIRC, after alot of time power washing, blowing, and pry bar digging under the platform it would go into all gears. All the junk under the platform was holding the shifter back. There should be a cover in the platform where you fill the trans. Pop the cover and see what it looks like under there.
