Case A6 Combine Search

Does anyone have a lead on a parts PTO powered A6 combine around the Midwest? We would like to get the components to convert ours to PTO drive.

Tried to buy my Uncle's when he passed away...his son cut it up for scrap.

I believe I have a gearbox around if I can find it. I think the PTO shaft is gone.

Why'd he do it? Spite? I made an offer on 2 - hedgerow 2 bottom Grand Det. Plows, $75.00 ea. Wore out, no coulters, way more than they were worth. Owner says NO!! $250.00 each or I scrap them, which he did. Maybe he got $25.00 ea. plus he had to haul them to the yard.

They figured my $250 bid was too low and would scrap for more...probably got $75 for it. Put my price on a Case/Glencoe field cultivator and it went under the torch also. I should say a friend of my cousin cut the iron promising good prices for the whole yard...stiffed my Aunt, she got nothing.

If they can't get their high price, they'd rather see it scrapped because of the 'nobody's makin' nothin' off me!' attitude. There were a lot of old cusses like that around here.

I have a 75 with PTO it's in NE Ohio. I'll look to see how many of the parts are the same.

Is the model 75 close enough in design to work on an A6?

Yes.

After looking in the A-6 parts book I see that the PTO drive set up looks quite a bit different than my 75. The gearbox looks completely different as does the jackshaft. Not saying it couldn't be made to work.
