Case cutter u joint

THe u joints in my case 603 cutter are starting to rattle. I found the part number 1963CHE. I have not done ujoints before. If I take out the old will I be able to take to an auto parts store and find a replacement based on any numbers on the old u joint? OR is there a cross reference for that? I know there are internet suppliers that probably could provide the part, but anymore shipping is almost as much as the part. I would like to avoid that if I can just buy local. Thanks all.

Some auto parts stores can cross reference that number. I would call and try that first. If not you can always take the u joint into your favorite auto parts store and they can measure the u joint to get you the right part.

Thanks. I don't have much faith in the 2 stores in my town. There was a geezer working in the morning that could find that stuff. All young kids working there now.

I totally understand that! I also did an internet search on that part number and quite a few u joints popped up. John Saili I'll bet might have that u joint too. I am sure you are wanting to get it repaired and running soon.

Auto parts stores don't always carry ag u-joints. Was quite a few years back i need one and the auto parts stores where I was said they had never seen one like that, went to jd and they had it in stock. Thats when They told me that implement and commercial are different even tho both have several sizes.

I am sure John would find them for me and I will go there if I can't get local. Unless you are a Amazon Prime member, shipping has become a big deal.

It's a very big deal. If you order qll your items you can be run over by freight. Jon is right, AG parts are different. Might have that joint in stock!
