Well, it's the dead of winter and I'm looking to add to the Case dealer list. If anyone knows of any old time Case dealer, I would appreciate the opportunity to add them to the list. Also, if anybody would like a copy of the list, I'd be happy to email it to you. Thanks to a lot of help the list is now over 3300 dealers. Don

Don, I have been trying to track down the name of a place that was in Sesser, Illinois. Many years ago I seen the dealer tag on a Case lawn tractor. They sold Case lawn equipment and sailboats.

Hey Don do you happen to have the dealer from Royalton Minnesota? I just heard the other day that there was a CASE dealer there but do not have the name. Ill check with the guy if he knows the name. If possible can you send me the list of dealers? Thanks for all you do!

Thanks for the kind words. I do have Smieja Implement and Repair for Royalton. That may not have been the only dealer though. In some towns there were many dealer changes. I got my first Pinzgauer bull from Fred Pelzer in Royalton about 35 years ago. Don

Don do you have Collins Implement Co. of Atkinson, Nebraska on your list? I found a receipt from them dated 2/17/1953 in a Model LA parts catalog I picked up at a swap meet this summer. The parts were 4 clutch fingers, pins and rings for a total of $3.72.

Do you have Bridport garage, Bridport Vt?. There are a bunch of Case tractors up that way so I asked who the dealer was in that area.

My friend bought a 5 ft cast eagle . Someone marked it in paint Painted Canyon ND. He mentions there was a Case dealer there. But thinks the town is long gone.

Sold the 1925 Case car , Bought a Case 20-40 two cyl tractor . Still have the 1920 Case car.

Don, I don't know much about Case, Most of what I saw growing up were combines and I am now 78. I know there had to be Case dealers around but Never knew of any. I am in northwest central Ohio. 70 mile north of Dayton, 100 mile south of Toledo, Ohio and 40 mile from the Indiana state line. Any chance I could get a list of what might have been in my area? Good to hear from you! A good rule of thumb is that there was a Case dealer every 7-10 miles apart in good farming country and 15-20 miles apart in poor farming country.

IH and JD typically had the stronger, well heeled dealers and all the other manufacturers got the rest. That may have been blacksmith shops, gas stations,hardware stores, car dealerships, livestock jockeys, auction companies, or even farmer dealers. That pretty much came to an end in 1953 with the introduction of diesel engines. JI Case then required the tools, mechanical ability, and space to repair diesel engines at every dealership. Until then all you needed was to have access to a mechanic for repairs. This decision eliminated many of the small, part time dealers, which may have happened in your area. In addition, the Depression, WWII, and the yearlong strike @ Case in 1946 was really hard on Case dealers, as many couldn't source or sell enough equipment to survive. Don

Twenty years ago, while taking my eldest daughter to Luther college in Decorah, we would go through Caledonia and there was a JD and Case/IH dealer there, and if I remember correctly, an AGCO dealer in Mabel. Caledonia seemed to be doing well, Mabel not so much. Don

thers's was one in weatherford tx back in the sixtys and seventys. name was Jim Olds, we still have three tractors he sold.
