Case IH 4210 hydraulic problems

Worked fine on wheel rake before lunch. Hydraulics got slower and finally quit. Changed filter. Plenty of oil. Now nothing hydraulic works and it acts like the Mechanical clutch isn't working. Can shift gears and ranges without depressing the clutch and no gear noise or movement. help

Did you hear any rattling or chatter by the clutch housing before problem?
The drive teeth on the pressure plate hub could have stripped. The PTO shaft is driven from this hub, the PTO shaft drives the hydraulic pump and if
the tractor has the electric two speed transmission with a switch on the dash or switch on the gear shift then the HI will not work as it requires hydraulic
pressure, try in LO. If it has the Fwd/Rev option neither direction will work as hydraulic pressure is required for both FWD and REV to work.

There is an inspection plate on bottom just behind clutch housing, take inspection plate off and.have a look. It is difficult to see much, outer shaft is
PTO.
Another possibility is shaft key on hydraulic pump drive shaft could have sheared off.

How many hours on tractor?

Hi, at 2000 Hrs, tractor is very low hours, hope you have a backup tractor. We just did a clutch job on my brother's CIH 3230(smaller D-206 engine than 4210 D-239) open station with loader and it took almost a week to get
the parts.
Good the outer shaft is turning, I assume it has the 12 pressure plate like photo in link below.
Require some more info on your 4210:
Was the hydraulic filter really dirty or any signs of metal flakes?
Does it have a cab?
Does it have a loader?
Does it have electric switch for Hi/LO power shift?
Does it have switch for FWR/REV (fast Rev) option? or only the standard 2 gear shifts with 1-4 and Rev/Lo/Hi?

Start with simple things first:
Now no Power Steering, 3pt or PTO?
Can you tell if any air is leaking around the hydraulic filter preventing the hydraulic pump to prime?
If the hydraulic pump has lost its prime, refer to photo, with a clean bucket under the hydraulic filter area,
loosen the hydraulic line (labelled P/S supply on the MCV valve under the filter) a few turns, enough to let it leak but not totally disconnected,
now start the engine and see if oil sprays out, be ready to shut engine off if oil sprays too much and be careful as this oil will be under 1500 PSI pressure.

If you don't get oil at this P/S line either the pump is still not priming or it is not turning.

Thanks for your reply. The tractor has a 2255 loader. 4 wheel drive. Manual shuttle shift, not hydraulic. No cab. Loader, steering, 3 point, remotes, don't work. Tractor won't move forward or reverse.

Hi, I believe the mechanical shuttle is a hydraulic clutch pack in behind the clutch housing and if there is no hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pump
then neither the forward or reverse clutch pack will lock up, so no movement fwd or rev. The older 74/84 models had a small hydraulic pump for the
fwd/rev clutch pack, separate from the main pump.

My suggestion is to try to determine if the hydraulic pump is working, by loosening the PS line or removing the main relief valve with a clean bucket
under the MCV. Important to verify no air leaks around hydraulic filter.
